This is the individual project for the graduate Visual Communication Fundamentals Studio at Carnegie Mellon School of Design. Using gradually increasing variables to create an effective typographic system in two dimensions, focusing on the relationship between composition and meaning, through type spacing, weight, variants, color, size and arrangement.

Takeaways

Having several rounds of exploration and design iteration, I have created a consistent and playful design and learned to guide people's attention using shapes and geometry. I also learned to convey information in a more effective and clearer way with visual hierarchy, grid system, and color contrast.
